Physician Survey

OPRC surveyors conduct a series of telephone interviews focusing on particular geographic, specialty and age segments of Ontario’s physician population.

OPRC surveyors are increasingly using web searches to locate hard-to-find physicians so that they may verify individual practice locations. The Physician Survey seeks to determine:

  • Whether a physician is in active practice
  • The correct address of primary practice
  • The specialty of practice and focus of care

The result of the telephone interview produces important information about physician out-migration, retirement, sabbatical, death and other reasons for ceasing practice that may not be reflected in other data sources.
