OPRC surveyors are increasingly using web searches to locate hard-to-find physicians so that they may verify individual practice locations. The Physician Survey seeks to determine:
- Whether a physician is in active practice
- The correct address of primary practice
- The specialty of practice and focus of care
The result of the telephone interview produces important information about physician out-migration, retirement, sabbatical, death and other reasons for ceasing practice that may not be reflected in other data sources.
